Ethereal and Fantasy Images
The efforts of Pope John Paul II to bring forth friendship and harmony between the world’s
religions have earned him much respect and high regard outside the Catholic faith. Canada
holds much pride in her own efforts to maintain harmony amongst her diverse population, a
concept truly verified by the images produced by our Canadian artist, David Jean.
This series of paintings by David Jean reflect his deep knowledge and comprehension of the
cycle of energy that is life itself. Only one born with such precognition could treat this
subject matter with such sensitivity and creativity. See if you can find the ubiquitous water
droplets in this beautiful series. They tell of the omnipresent dimensions which David
seemingly visits within himself, at will. Luckily for us, he can share this vision with
us through his art.

The Wizard

A painting that literally evolved over some lengthy time, this piece began as a faceless
hooded flowing gown floating above the cracked earth. As with all things spiritual and
fantasy, there is no clear and final answer. David revisited this painting, giving the
Wizard a new face of wisdom and strength, as he conducts light & energy between the earth
and sky! The signature water drop is David's symbol of the spirit of life. In the
background darkness and trepidation in the form of daemon riders are held at bay by the
power of the Wizard's light.
David was inspired by the Tolkien trilogy.
